There are many fad diets out there that people think would never work for them. One of the most basic and easy ways for people to lose weight is by old fashioned hard work, exercise and eating healthy, but for the people who can’t do that they now can try one of the many new diets that have been shown to work and one of those diets is the Atkins Diet. Whether you want to lose weight for personal satisfaction, for a specific holiday, or for an event like a wedding you will be able to do it with the Atkins diet! People who decide to follow this diet to have to follow as strict of a regime that many people have to follow when they begin to diet. This special diet is based mainly off protein unlike many other diets that base themselves on reducing the amount of sweets and sugars in your body. The Atkins diet is mostly high-protein and low carb, it goes off the base that people who are on this diet can have as much protein and fat that they want, but they can’t have any carbs. The reason why this is done is in order to change the metabolism of the dieter in order to process food faster. The people who created this diet feel that this is the perfect way to rewire and recondition your body in order to burn fat without making yourself hungry. Some of the benefits of this diet is that with it you will become healthier, not only do more than 55% of the people who try this diet lose weight, it has also shown to improve the overall health of dieters. This diet is carried out by dieters finding a carbohydrate intake level that at first allows them to lose the weight they want to lose and then find a level that will allow them to maintain a safe and healthy weight. Similar to the south beach diet there are four main phases of this diet. 1) Induction- This stage goes on for two weeks. During theses two weeks dieters are not allowed to have any dairy, starch including grains or starchy vegetables, or fruit. 2) Weight Loss- This is when the dieter tries different intake levels of carbs in order to find out a level of intake of carbs that will allow them to continue to lose weight until they reach their healthy weight loss goal 3) Premaintenance & Maintenance- This is the 3rd and 4th steps combined because in this the dieter must find out what level of carb intake will allow them to stay at a healthy weight and then follow that level in order to maintain the weight that they want.
