If you are looking to lose some weight and become a healthier human being the south beach diet may be for you. It is with this special diet that you will learn to take bad fats and bad carbs completely out of your diet in order to create a healthier you! Some people wince when they hear the word diet but with the south beach diet you don’t even have to bat an eye, there have been thousands of successful cases of people trying the south beach diet and following it to the T easily. This is mainly because the diet is broken down into three phases. This is helpful because it is through this diet that you are allowed to slide into the diet instead of jumping in head first. The first phase of the diet is known as “phase 1” this takes place for the first two weeks of the diet. It is during there two weeks where you begin to elimate all sugars from your diet this because the creator of the south beach diet thinks that being hungry is triggered by heavy carbohydrate foods that your body breaks down quickly and most of these items are made of refined sugars and grains. Instead of having things that are high in carbohydrates the diet says to substitute beans and whole grains. Also during this time you will begin to eliminate fruits. This is when people begin to see the largest amount of weight loss. This large weight loss will continue into the second step of the diet which is known as “phase 2” this is when you will begin to allow fruits and healthy whole grains back into your life. During this phase you will continue to lose weight. This step in the diet does not have a specified time but for as long as you want to lose weight you can continue in phase two. Once you hit the third and final stage known as “phase 3” you will be in the maintenance phase that you will want to continue on for the rest of your life. By this time you should understand all of the concepts of the diet, and although there is not a main list of foods you can eat and not eat you should have a general idea of what is good and not good for you. One of the huge benefits of this diet is that you don’t literally eat less food, that is one of the big misconceptions of dieting. People think that just because they are going to diet they are going to be hungry all of the time but with this diet people are able to just cut foods out of their daily intake in order to lose weight.
